A unit of volume measured by how many times the recipient says “that’s good” before the person pouring stops.[1]
Measurement
The first “that’s good” is an advisory. The second is a formal request. At the third, the recipient usually has to move the cup.
Conversion
One standard pour equals two fingers, provided everyone agrees on whose fingers and which direction they’re supposed to go. The committee has yet to agree on either.
Experimental controls
Researchers marked the intended line on the cup with tape. The person pouring saw the tape, nodded, and poured straight past it.
