Barack Obama served as the 44th president of the United States from 2009 to 2017. On August 28, 2014, he held a press conference in a tan suit. The suit would go on to have a press cycle of its own.[1]

Obama was inaugurated on January 20, 2009, and served two terms. His administration signed the Affordable Care Act into law in 2010.
Tan suit
The White House briefing concerned foreign policy. The jacket was beige enough to generate a second, entirely separate briefing in the minds of cable news producers.
Legacy
The suit established a precedent under which a president could spend forty minutes addressing world events and still lose the headline to a swatch.
