The spades table is a place where four people play cards and everyone standing behind them believes they could be playing better.[1]
Reneging
A player who fails to follow suit while holding that suit may be called for a renege. The evidence is usually presented by someone who was supposedly minding their own business.
Bidding
Each team predicts how many tricks it can win. This is the only part of the game during which everybody speaks confidently about the future.
Review
Once the cards are collected, any dispute can still be reconstructed by the person who remembers what you played three hands ago but can’t tell you where they parked.
